Youth Hunts |

New York State has opened a special spring youth turkey season that opens the weekend before our regular spring season. This is a great time to bring your kids to hear a lot of gobbling and see some really good hunting before the regular season starts. Every year Rolling Ridges teams up with the Cortland Area Limbhangers Chapter of the NWTF to host a hunt for lucky area youths. This hunt is during the New York State early season Youth Hunt for Wild Turkey. Cortland County and surrounding area youths between the ages of 12 - 15 get a chance to experience the hunting heritage and the great outdoors as they may not of have a chance to before. All while under the supervision of our experienced guides. Parents are welcome! After a morning of hunting, youths can share their day's stories at the Cortland Area Limbhangers J.A.K.E.S. event held every year. During the spring of 2004, Rolling Ridges Guides Outfitters was chosen by Empire State Outdoors channel as one of the locations for filming their debut documentaries on hunting in New York. Footage was shot during the early youth hunt and to be aired on cable television early spring 2006. Each of the youths had a time in front of the camera, and both the film crews and hunting groups had a quality hunting experience. |
